Yusuf Pathan is still the trump card for KKR says Wasim Akram
One of the hardest hitters of the cricket ball, Yusuf Pathan who played a crucial part in the title victory for the Rajasthan Royals in the inaugural edition of the IPL, is now playing for the franchise from Kolkata but has not been able to perform much in the limited chances in this year’s IPL.
Akram who acts as a bowling coach for the Kolkata Knight Riders felt that Pathan who played a calm innings against KIXP to get the side home is still a huge part of the plans at the franchise. Akram felt that the 32-year old is still a very big asset and that his all-round abilities will always help the team.
Akram also was full of praise for the mystery spinner Sunil Narine and added that Narine who had to change his action to comply with the regulations of the ICC, still had the same bite in his bowling. Akram explained that it will take 2 or 3 more matches to actually get used to the new action and that his effectiveness has not changed due to the change in the action.
Akram who is a part of a team dominated by spinners felt that it was his input of confidence to the bowlers that helps irrespective of the way the bowler bowls. KKR play the SunRisers Hyderabad in their next encounter.
