Yuvraj Singh
BCCI

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will announce the names of the players for the annual Central Contracts pretty soon. The players which appear in this contract list are a regular part of the national set-up or the players who are in contention to make a comeback anytime soon. However, by the look of things, it will be interesting to see whether the likes of Yuvraj Singh or a Harbhajan Singh gets the central contract this time around.

Yuvraj last appeared for the national team during an ODI series in West Indies. He has not played for the last 7 months. He was part of the Indian squad during the Champions Trophy last year in England and Wales. Yuvi who hopes to be a part of the 2019 World Cup team would like to play the next major ICC tournament. However, things are not in favour of Yuvraj now. He has again lost the plot to make a national comeback again.

Youngsters have not allowed Yuvraj to force his way back

With the youngsters performing pretty consistently it is becoming increasingly difficult for Yuvraj to force his way back into the national team. Therefore it is speculated that Yuvraj might well be removed from the Central Contract list.

The southpaw has been out of touch even in the domestic circuit. In the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, he just managed 208 runs in 9 matches at a below-par strike rate of 96. Even in the Vijay Hazare Trophy he only mustered 172 runs. Yuvraj was not even included in any of the Deodar Trophy squad s which was announced pretty recently.

Yuvraj became emotional on the show
