Yuvraj Singh back in action confirms SRH coach Tom Moody

The Indian Premier League is now closing in on its business end and with the games coming thick and fast, every point will become even more vital for the qualification.

And at such a crucial time, the South Indian franchise of the IPL, the Sunrisers Hyderabad have been handed a big boost for the upcoming games.

The coach of the franchise, Tom Moody, revealed that star Indian international Yuvraj Singh is now fit and back into the squad.

He revealed that the 36-year old might be a part of the starting XI against the Gujarat Lions on Friday.

“Yuvraj is available for selection and when we finalize the eleven, he is very much in our thoughts,” Moody said.

“He has practiced well over the last four days without any issues,” he added.

SRH are in a decent position with 8 points from 7 games and will be excited to welcome the star player into their squad this week. Tom Moody also revealed that the hard-hitting batsman will easily fit into the side and that he will add more balance to the squad.

“It is not difficult to fit in Yuvraj into the line-up. You have got a match-winner in Yuvraj Singh who is coming back from injury.”

Yuvraj adds a lot to our side because it is not only his ability with the bat and being a left-hander which is going to add to our strengths. It is also about what he can do with the ball as well. He brings a lot of experience and versatility to our top six,” Moody added.

Moody went on to explain how the recent victory over the Royal Challengers Bangalore has increased the confidence of the team. He said that the break that his team have got exactly halfway into the tournament will help them regroup and come back stronger.

“We have had a good break, the guys have freshened up and it is in our hands as to how we play the second half of this competition.”

“There is no point of worrying as to what other teams are doing on the points table. It is important what we are going to do,” he added.

The Australian also spoke about how important it is for his side to be at their best in their next game against the Lions who are in the 2nd position in the points table.

He pointed out that the Lions are strong at the top and that it was important for his side to start on a strong note.

He said, “They are a threat at the top and there is no question about that We will be well prepared. We played very well in our first outing against them

We also recognize that they have got match-winners that can turn it around on their day.”

We need to be on top of our game,” he added.

With 4 wins from the last 5 games, the SRH franchise are in a good position in the points table this season and will hope that the inclusion of Yuvraj Singh can lift them into the qualifiers.
