The veteran all-rounder Yuvraj Singh, yesterday, cleared the fitness test at National Cricket Academy in Bangalore. He was to undergo the fitness test today but somehow underwent the test yesterday and passed the fitness test with flying colours which now puts him in ODI contention for the five matches ODI series against New Zealand.
The young pacers Barinder Sran and Jasprit Bumrah also marked their attendance at NCA; both of them cleared the test, thus strengthening their case for the upcoming ODI’s. Gautam Gambhir was the first one to undergo the fitness test as he was in line to join the Test team for the remainder of the Test series against New Zealand.
Now he has been inducted into the Indian team replacing injured KL Rahul, Jayant Yadav has also been called to the team to replace Ishant Sharma who is yet to recover from Chikungunya.
Both Gambhir and Jayant Yadav will join the Indians camp today. The second Test match will start from September 30 at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. Indian team has already reached Kolkata, head coach along with Gautam Gambhir and Jayant Yadav will join the squad today.
