Former Indian batsman Yuvraj Singh has hinted that he sees himself as a coach in the second innings of his career rather than being in the commentary box. In fact, Yuvraj had recently said that he can not tolerate some of the former players in the commentary box. However, Yuvraj has a great experience under his belt and he wants the young players to make the most of it.

The former southpaw batsman is one of India’s most successful middle-order batsman and he believes he can guide the young players on the right path. Yuvraj added that he can provide the guidance to the players who are coming into bat at number four, five and six.

Yuvraj Singh has all the experience.

In fact, Yuvraj had also recently questioned the credentials of India’s batting coach, Vikram Rathour. Rathour had played a handful of matches for the Indian team and Yuvraj had raised questions whether India’s batting coach is the right man for the T20 generation.

“I will probably start with that (coaching). I am keener on coaching than doing commentary,” Yuvraj told former England batsman Kevin Pietersen during an Instagram Live chat.

“I have more insight in limited-overs cricket and I can share my knowledge with players coming to bat at No.4, 5, 6 as to what sort of mindset they should have,” he added.

Yuvraj added that he wants to take one step at a time and he is going to start with mentoring before taking on the full-time coaching role. The left-hander has the experience and he could be the right coach for the young generation as he has done it all himself.

Yuvraj Singh was a big match player.

“I will probably start by being a mentor and then if it goes well maybe full-time coaching,” said Yuvraj.

Yuvraj is one of India’s most successful white-ball batsmen. The southpaw was the team’s World Cup hero in 2011 as he had scored 362 runs and also scalped 15 wickets. The left-hander was known to bring his best in the big matches and he can guide the players in handling the pressure.
