Yuvraj Singh Comes With A Witty Reply After Harbhajan Singh Backed Sanju Samson

Since a long time, the Indian national cricket team is trying to find out a proper batsman for the no.4 position in ODI cricket. Recently, Sanju Samson performed impressively for India A, and the veteran off-spinner Harbhajan Singh has asked why the national team isn’t using this youngster for the unsettled no.4 batting position in Indian ODI squad. Later, the former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh gave a witty reply.

The 24-year-old Kerala wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson is a very talented cricketer. On last Friday (6th September), during the rain-interrupted fifth and final unofficial home ODI against South Africa A, Samson scored 91 runs off 48 balls (six fours and seven sixes). His outstanding batting performance helped India A to score 204/4 (20 overs) in the first innings. Later, South Africa A were all out on 168 runs (20 overs) and India A won that match by 36 runs. That victory helped India A to win that home series by the 4-1 margin.

As India’s no.4 batting position in ODI is still unsettled, Harbhajan Singh has asked the question that why the team isn’t using Samson in this place. The veteran off-spinner feels that Samson has a good batting technique as well as good head on his shoulder.

On his official Twitter account, Harbhajan wrote, “Why not @IamSanjuSamson at number 4 in odi.. with good technique and good head on his shoulders.. well played today anyways against SA A”

Yuvraj Singh pointed out India’s strong top-order

Since the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015, Indian team management has already tried 14 players in the no.4 batting position of the ODI side. But, team management is still searching for a better option.

Later, the former Indian all-rounder and Harbhajan Singh’s long-time teammate, Yuvraj Singh came with a witty reply. He claimed that India don’t need the no.4 batsman due to the strong top-order.

Yuvraj replied through his official Twitter account, “Top order is very strong bro they don’t need no 4 batsman ?”

While Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma open the ODI matches, captain Virat Kohli comes to bat at no.3. All these three top-orders are the most important batsmen of the present Indian ODI team.

Meanwhile, Yuvraj Singh was also one of those 14 players who batted at the no.4 batting position in ODI cricket since the CWC 2015. At the end of his international career in 2017, Yuvraj batted ten times at no.4. In that period, the left-handed batsman scored 358 runs in nine innings with an average of 44.75. He scored one century and another half-century at that time.
