Australian cricketer Steve Smith was banned for 12 months from international cricket after being found guilty for ball tampering.
The then skipper of Aussie team along with David Warner and Cameron Bancroft have all been found guilty over the incident. They were all sanctioned by Cricket Australia on the level of their offense.
Steve Smith immediately flew from Cape Town on Wednesday and addressed a jam packed press conference in Sydney on Thursday. The World No.1 test player could not hold his tears while apologizing for the public through the interaction and broke numerous time during his speech.

The cricketing world, which was closely observing the unfolding events have started sympathizing for the talented player for his wrong doing. Indian cricketers such as Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, Rohit Sharma, Gautam Gambhir and many others had expressed their views and sympathies over the past 24 hours.
Legendary all-rounder Yuvraj Singh is the latest to join the list as he backed the Aussie batsman by suggesting it is bad to judge him based on just ball tampering.
The veteran all rounder expressed his sorrow for the Australian cricketer with his tweet which read: “To be honest it’s a bit sad to see @stevesmith49 like this Yes we all know he made a mistake and he is bearing the consequences for it but let’s not forget he’s been a great batsman and a good guy who’ got a lot of glory to Aus cricket also not the first person to tamper the ball”

Despite all the sympathies Steve Smith has been getting over the past couple of days, the Sydney born batsman had made a mistake that he will regret for the rest of his life.
We sincerely hope that over the time, that he would garner the same respect from fellow cricketers and fans. The 12 month ban is a bit harsh from Cricket Australia, as many cricketers in the past had gotten away from serious punishments despite being found guilty of ball tampering.
