Indian batsman Yuvraj Singh is toiling hard at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore to make a comeback in the Indian cricket team, a report in Hindustan Times suggests. The story also adds that the selectors have kept the gates open for him and it is just a matter of clearing the fitness test when Yuvraj might be back in the limited overs team.

Yuvraj made a comeback to the ODI side in January early this year, for the series against England. He then went to England for the ICC Champions Trophy and retained his place for the series against Windies as well. There, the southpaw suffered an injury, and from then, he has not been able to regain his place back in the side.
Earlier, the selectors said that Yuvraj had been rested, but later, it came to notice that he failed the yo-yo test, which was the reason behind his axing. Yuvraj underwent the test again this time as well; he was unable to achieve the desired level of fitness.
The all-rounder has planned to clear the test at any cost, the reason why he has opted to stay in NCA for a month. After the completion of the camp, he will be undergoing the test, and then, the result of it will decide the future of Yuvraj in the Indian cricket team.

However, the fitness camp also means that Yuvraj will be missing the Ranji Trophy games for Punjab. He missed the opening game of the season due to fitness test while made a comeback for the second game. Post that, he missed the next two games and there are fair chances that Yuvraj will miss the upcoming game as well to work on his fitness and make a case for national selection.
His availability will also help India to solve the number 4 conundrum as the team needs an experienced man in the job. With Suresh Raina failing to score in domestic cricket, Yuvraj is the lone experienced man who can solve this issue for the Virat Kohli-led the team.
The international fixtures of Sri Lanka tour of India starts on November 16, comprising of three Tests, three ODIs and the same number of T20Is.
