About the picture shared by Sourav Ganguly:

Ganguly first made the debut in 50-over format but due to a dip in form, he was released from the team. However, he worked hard in the domestic circuit before becoming the cynosure of all eyes. Thus, the left-hand batsman was called back to the Test team.

Alongside Rahul Dravid, Ganguly played the maiden Test against England in 1996. In his debut Test match, he scored a century on debut at Lord’s.

Whereas, Ganguly’s 131 still remains the highest by any batsman on his debut at the iconic ground.

Moreover, in the consecutive match, he scored another century thus becoming only the third batsman to make a century in each of his first two innings.

Therefore, the above picture posted by Ganguly is very close to the heart of the former cricketer. After his sensational debut, he gained a permanent place in Tests. Ganguly went on to play 113 Tests, 311 ODIs and scored 7212 and 11363 runs respectively.

Currently, he holds the most privileged post of BCCI as its supremo. Ganguly, in the new role, is giving his best to take the Indian cricket to new heights.
