Just like Ashish Nehra, Yuvraj Singh also got a chance to finish his international career in front of his home crowd when India faces Sri Lanka in the second ODI on December 13, but the all-rounder has declined the offer, a report in Dainik Jagran suggests.

It is to be noted Yuvraj is currently undergoing a rehabilitation process at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore so he can clear the yo-yo test, which has become a big headache for few India discarded players to make a comeback in the team. He will continue to be in NCA until November 27.

Though, his decision to stay back at the NCA and miss Ranji Trophy games for Punjab has drawn a bit of criticism from BCCI, as reported yesterday. The board is not happy with the all-rounder missing Ranji Trophy games at the cost of undergoing a camp at the NCA.
It has been learnt that only India regulars have been asked to miss Ranji Trophy games so as they can take ample of rest before they come back to the side. Yuvraj is not the member of the Indian team at present but can stage a comeback if he clears the yo-yo test and score a few runs on the domestic circuit.
Yuvraj, who made a comeback to the team early this year, played his last international game against the Windies in July. He got injured during the third ODI and then missed rest of two ODIs and the sole T20I as well.

However, Indian team is looking for a number four batsman in the one-day team, and given Yuvraj’s experience, he can be the answer to team India’s woes. Though team management also has someone like Suresh Raina to look at, he has failed miserably in the ongoing Ranji season and has just managed 105 runs in five Ranji matches, which automatically rules him out of the contention.
Now it’s solely up to these two players to clear the yo-yo test, score runs at the domestic level and get their place back in the Indian team as team India is also craving for a senior batsman at number four position at the moment.
