Yuzvendra Chahal of Royal Challengers Bangalore franchise, which is led by Indian skipper Virat Kohli consisting of an abundance of superstars, feels that RCB loses most matches due to shortage of death bowlers. Reliable performers with both bat and ball have come and gone, but their spirit to win maiden IPL remains constant.
RCB is looking to seek their maiden IPL Trophy which has not been achieved despite the presence of stars in the ranks of AB De Villiers, Chris Gayle, Virat Kohli, Mitchell Starc, Albie Morkel, Daniel Vettori, Rahul Dravid, Shane Watson, Jacques Kallis, Anil Kumble and Dale Steyn in the past.
IPL 2020 will be held entirely in UAE since lock-downs and restrictions are in place in India after the coronavirus covid-19 pandemic occurred in March end. The tournament will commence on September 19 and conclude on November 10.

Yuzvendra Chahal Says Lack Of Death Over Bowlers Reason Behind RCB’s Failure
Yuzvendra Chahal, the leg spinner was noticed for his performances for performing well after getting a spot in RCB squad in 2014 and was rewarded for his consistency by being a part of the Indian team in 2016. He has been a consistent performer for the Bengaluru-based franchise ever since. The M. Chinnaswamy Stadium which is the home to the Royal Challengers Bangalore is often seen as a graveyard for bowlers and only a few of them have been successful in limiting the run flow.
Yuzvendra Chahal, who has enormous fan followers, is certainly one of the successful performers with the ball and he has scalped 100 wickets in his IPL career in 84 matches so far, and 50 of those wickets have come home at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium itself. He went past Vinay Kumar and emerged as leading wicket-taker in 2018.
Yuzvendra Chahal talked about various strategies taken by RCB for upcoming IPL 2020 with commentator Aakash Chopra on his Facebook page. The 30-year-old who has played 52 ODIs and 42 T20Is for India talked about the concerned factors for the Royal Challengers Bangalore franchise.
“I have played for RCB for 6 years, the problem has always been, other than the one year when we had Starc, our death-over bowling.”

The leg-spinner also explained how the team has lost due to below-par death bowling especially in the last 3 overs or so. He says that the opposition comes back hard by scoring runs at will in the last few overs as RCB have a dearth of pace attack to stop the run flow.
“Because we keep a tight leash till the 16th or 17th over, but I feel we have lost at least 30% of the matches due to the last 3 overs. Due to those 3 overs, the score goes to 190 or 200. So that changes everything suddenly,” he explained.
Yuzvendra Chahal Feels Lot Of Bowling Options Available For RCB In 2020
RCB has however adopted a new strategy and acquired a bunch of bowling options at the IPL 2020 auction. The inclusion of likes of Chris Morris, Isuru Udana, and Kane Richardson will certainly be valuable additions to RCB’s bowling arsenal.
“So currently we have a lot of options compared to other years. Because earlier after 16 overs, I used to bowl the 17th over if required else we had only two bowlers to bowl the last 4 overs. But now we have 3-4 options to bowl the last 4 overs. So this thing that we were missing earlier, we have covered now,” he concluded.

Royal Challengers Bangalore were runners up in 2009,2011 and 2016.
The 2020 squad will consist of batsmen like Virat Kohli, AB De Villiers, Aaron Finch, bowlers like Washington Sundar, Yuzvendra Chahal, Umesh Yadav, Mohammad Siraj, Navdeep Saini, Dale Steyn, Kane Richardson besides boosting of all-rounders like Moeen Ali, Shivam Dube and Chris Morris to name a few.
