Yuzvendra Chahal, RCB’s spinner has quietly climbed up the bowling charts although the likes of Rajasthan Royals’ seamer Jofra Archer, Delhi Capitals pacer Kagiso Rabada and Sunrisers Hyderabad’s spinner Rashid Khan always are in the spotlight whenever IPL rolls around.

The ongoing season of the IPL 2020 in the UAE has seen some terrific bowling performances from the likes of pacer Mohammed Shami from Kings XI Punjab who ran through Delhi Capitals’ batting line-up to register his best IPL bowling figures of 15/3.

Kolkata Knight Riders pacer Pat Cummins completely throttled Rajasthan Royals skipper Steve Smith as several bowlers have remained in the limelight.

Yuzvendra Chahal Has Been Brilliant For RCB And Should Be Talked About More: Gautam Gambhir

Royal Challengers Bangalore leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has picked up eight wickets in five games at an average of 18.00 so far in the tournament and has been performing brilliantly this season.

Former India batsman Gautam Gambhir, who led Kolkata Knight Riders to two IPL titles during his cricketing days, said that people should talk about Chahal more than they do.

“Yuzvendra Chahal has been brilliant. We keep talking about Rashid Khan, Jofra Archer, Kagiso Rabada, Pat Cummins; but Chahal in IPL, especially in this season, has been right up there,” Gambhir said on ESPNCricinfo.

“We should be talking about Chahal much more. There is more hype around other bowlers. But he has done brilliantly for RCB,” Gambhir further said.

Yuzvendra Chahal did not have a good outing against DC on Monday as he went wicketless in his three overs and conceded 29 runs. RCB lost the match by a mammoth 59-run margin with key batsmen failing to get going at the Dubai International Stadium.

Kagiso Rabada Bags 4 As Delhi Capitals Beat RCB By 59 Runs

Kagiso Rabada picked 4 wickets conceding 24 runs as Delhi Capitals beat RCB by 59 runs. Delhi Capitals posted 196/4 after Marcus Stoinis hit 53 off only 26 balls. Opener Prithvi Shaw too contributed by scoring 42 as all the batsmen registered double-digit scores. In reply, RCB could only manage 137/9 as apart from skipper Virat Kohli’s 43 none of the other batsmen could score more than 13.

Kagiso Rabada now is the leading wicket-taker so far in IPL 2020 with as many as 12 wickets in five matches averaging a meagre 12.50. He registered his best bowling figures in IPL 2020 which was his third 4th wicket haul in IPL and first in IPL 2020.

Yuzvendra Chahal is second in the list with eight wickets from five matches alongside KXIP’s Mohammad Shami and MI’s Trent Boult. But his average of 18 is better than the other two pacers.

Axar Patel, however, was the man of the match for conceding only 18 runs in 4 overs besides picking up two wickets of opener Aaron Finch and Moeen Ali. Kagiso Rabada picked up wickets of Virat Kohli, Washington Sundar, Shivam Dube and Isuru Udana.
