Harbhajan Singh, the former India off-spinner, recently found himself in a ‘foot in mouth’ situation after he wrongly blamed media house Zee News for publishing unverified content. The Turbanator was not amused when he came across a news article which reported a story about the off-spinner getting smashed for 12 sixes by Virender Sehwag in a domestic match.
The piece was based on the facts claimed by Ravichandran Ashwin in an episode of ‘What the Duck’. Ashwin in the video is seen describing the event in total awe of Sehwag.
Here’s what Ashwin had said in the show:
“I realised one fine day that it was his ego that you needed to bowl against. Because he gave me a very interesting story. He said he had a fever in a game at Rohtak. And smashed Harbhajan for 12 sixes. ‘You know Harbhajan is a good off spinner.’ I said, ‘Yeah Harbhajan is a good off-spinner.’ But that doesn’t mean you smoke him for 12 sixes with fever.”
Harbhajan Singh reacted out furiously and termed the news as fake.

Zee News Editor- in-Chief Sudhir Chaudhary was also not amused when he saw Harbhajan demeaning his organisation without any proof. He reminded the cricketer that the news is in fact 100% true and there is nothing made up in it.
Responding to Harbhajan through a series of tweets, Sudhir Chaudhary said:
“Dear @harbhajan_singh I wish you had watched this interview before commenting about @ZeeNews #FaltuNews,” Sudhir Chaudhary’s first tweet to Harbhajan read.

Harbhajan Singh hasn’t made any further statements yet.
The 36-year-old is a very vocal character and actively uses social media platform. Known for his mercurial attitude, these days he stays away from creating unnecessary controversies and the abovementioned incident just seems like a hasty decision from his side.
Let’s hope he reads such articles carefully and cross check the fact before making any bold statements out in the open.
