Like the ODI’s, the T20I opener between Zimbabwe and India turned out to be yet another one sided encounter as the Indians simply mauled the Zimbabweans.

Batting first, India got to a respectable total of 178-5 in 20 overs. It was a combined batting effort as Rahane, Vijay and Uthappa all got into the 30’s. The Indians would have been happier if one of them went on to score a big one. Nevertheless, the Indian bowling was once again outstanding as Axar Patel and Harbhajan Singh were just too good. Zimbabwe could only manage 124-7, as Patel struck thrice. Axar Patel was named the Man of the Match for his fine bowling performance.
