2018 FIFA World Cup: Denmark vs Australia – Match Preview
Jun 21, 2018 at 8:23 AM
The first of the three games on Thursday will see Australia and Denmark taking on each other.
Australia would have felt hard done by after the narrow 1-2 defeat at the hands of France in the opener. They were looking set for a draw before a late deflected strike from Paul Pogba broke their hearts. The result was harsh on them as they had put on a great performance. With their hopes of making it to the next stage hanging by a thread at the moment, the Socceroos will be desperate to produce yet another great show and ensure that they end up on winning side.

On the other hand, Denmark began their World Cup campaign with a hard-fought 1-0 victory against a Peru side making their first appearance in the competition since 1982. The South Americans had missed a penalty and Yussuf Poulsen made them pay by scoring the winner in the second half.

Denmark looked far from being impressive against Peru but will still fancy their chances against an Australian side who have only made it out of the group stages on one occasion at the World Cup (2006).
Sportzwiki brings you all you need to know ahead of the clash between the two sides.
Venue and time:
Poland and Australia will lock horns at the Samara Arena. The action will begin at 5:30 PM IST on Thursday.
Players to look out for:
While Christian Eriksen is still the player to look out for from the Denmark camp, all eyes will be Yussuf Poulsen. Australia failed to convert their chances against France despite doing well over. In the crucial clash, they will be banking their hopes on Hertha Berlin attacker Mathew Leckie.
