Brazil have touched down in Russia for the FIFA World Cup 2018.

Brimming with confidence after two impressive wins in the warm-up games, a confident Brazil squad arrived in Russia in the early hours of Monday morning.

The five-time winners are one of the favourites to lift the FIFA World Cup 2018, as they will be looking to bury the disastrous semifinal loss at home in the last edition.

Eventual winners, Germany had thrashed a clueless Selecao 7-1 in front of a crying Maracana.

Things, however, have changed drastically since then and the South Americans will be confident of winning their sixth title and first since 2002.

Neymar and the rest of the team touched down in Sochi, the Black Sea resort city where they will be based during the tournament, just before 3 am local time (0000 GMT) on a flight from Vienna.

Brazil left the Austrian capital on Sunday evening after beating the hosts 3-0 in their final friendly ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2018.

Gabriel Jesus, Neymar and Phillipe Coutinho were on target, as Tite’s men warmed up for the showpiece event in style. Prior to that, the South Americans had beat Croatia 2-0 with the help of goals from Neymar and Roberto Firmino. Before leaving for Russia Tite had lavished praise on Neymar.

“I do not even know the limit of Neymar,” Tite had told reporters. “His technical and creative ability is impressive. When we release him in the last third of the field, he’s lethal.”

The world’s most expensive player has recovered in time from a broken metatarsal to boost Brazil’s chances.

Brazil begins their campaign next Sunday, June 17, against Switzerland in Rostov-on-Don. After that, they will take on Costa Rica and Serbia in Group E.
