2018 FIFA World Cup: Saudi Arabia vs Egypt – Preview

Saudi Arabia and Egypt will be looking to bow out of the tournament on a high when they take on each other in their final group game.

Both the teams are out of the tournament after losing their first two games against Russia and Uruguay. With their fate already decided, they would get nothing from the dead rubber except that a win might help their restore their pride.

Saud Arabia are yet to score at the tournament, so finding the back of the net would be a good start for the Asian country. They are looking for their first World Cup win since shocking Belgium in the second of two group-stage wins at USA 1994.

On the other hand, Egypt have never won a game at a World Cup and have a good chance of breaking that duck against Saudi Arabia. Mohamed Salah, who missed his team’s opener against Uruguay, scored against in the 3-1 loss to Russia. He will be desperate to give his nation something to cheer about by leading the team to a historic win.
