2022 FIFA World Cup Germany vs Japan: Where To Watch, Live Streaming, Date, Timing, Squad, Lineups, Venue:
Germany commence their 2022 FIFA Word Cup festivities against Asian giants Japan in their Group E opener. The last time time Germans played an Asian side at the World Cup, against South Korea, they had a nightmare outing. The Koreans inflicted a humiliating 2-0 loss on the defending champions, knocking them out of the group stage itself. However, this is a new-look Germany side, which has been rebooted right from the manager’s post.
Hansi Flick is leading the charge for the Die Mannschaft, who was also Joachim Loew’s assistant during the country’s 2014 triumph. Barring some experienced players such as Thomas Muller, Manuel Neur, Mario Gotze, Flick has introduced a number of new faces in the team who will face a litmus test at this year’s tournament. Versatile midfielder Joshua Kimmich could hold Germany’s key in a tough group which also has Spain and Costa Rica, and the midfielder could prove to be a vital presence for their run in Qatar.

Japan, one of the consistent attendees at the World Cup finals have an impressive record at some of their last editions. They have qualified for a seventh FIFA World Cup in a row, and have made it to the knockouts on three of last six occasions. The Samurai Blue are in a hot form entering the tournament, having picked 15 wins from 18 in their qualifying campaign, and netting a whopping 58 goals.
This will be Japan’s first ever competitive clash against four-time world champions Germany, as they will hope to start their 2022 FIFA World Cup campaign in a similar manner as the previous one, where they defeated South American powerhouse Colombia in the opener. Their legendary captain, Maya Yoshida will be probably gracing his last ever World Cup at 34-years of age, and would love to bow out with a tournament to remember.
