mArgentina were crowned with the ultimate glory at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, as Lionel Messi finally led his country to their third, and his first ever world title. The ecstasy around the sight of the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner, and perhaps the greatest footballer on the planet lifting the World Cup trophy, in his last ever appearance at the tournament was unmatchable on the night. The closest any experience comes around it is the final itself which was played between Argentina and France.

After an end-to-end, chilling finale ended in 3-3 stalemate after 120 minutes, the penalties finally gave us a winner in Argentina. Meanwhile, as much excitement as the final gave us, the whole tournament in itself too pulled a rabbit out of its hat on every matchday. The likes of Germany, Belgium, Uruguay were headed from the group stage itself, whereas Brazil, England and Portugal too were sent packing earlier than expected. And now about the money figures, here’s how much every team walked away with in their purse.
