One of the names linked with Chelsea today, AS Roma defender Antonio Rudiger was in the Blues’ sights early on in the summer before an injury got in the way of a deal.
A strong and uncompromising centre-back, the Germany international has shone in Serie A after previously impressing in the Bundesliga with Stuttgart.
Still only 23, Rudiger has his best years ahead of him and could be an ideal long-term replacement for the likes of Terry and Cahill at the back.
