Previously regarded as one of the best young players in Europe, Raphael Varane’s career has hit a slight standstill in the last couple of seasons after less regular playing time at Real Madrid.
Chelsea have been linked with the Frenchman in the past and should try again to take full advantage of his situation at the Bernabeu, as he is surely good enough to be a starter for a top side.
It remains to be seen if Varane is Conte’s cup of tea, as he hasn’t been linked with Chelsea since Jose Mourinho left, but few could argue he’d be an upgrade on what they currently have and is certainly one who should be kept in mind.
