7 Goals In 20 Games!! Benzema Ends Two Months Barren Run In La Liga
Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema opened the scoring in his side’s game against Eibar, ending a difficult run in front of goal in La Liga.
Benzema took advantage of a defensive error to score the game’s first goal at Ipurua, where Madrid were without the injured Cristiano Ronaldo and the suspended Gareth Bale.
In their absence, though, the French striker stepped up, scoring his sixth goal in La Liga this season and quickly following it up with his seventh.
By half time he’d created a goal, too, with James Rodriguez firing Zinedine Zidane’s side into a 3-o lead.
His form in the Champions League has been much better. His goal in the recent win against Napoli took his tally to five goals in just six starts.
Before Saturday’s trip to Eibar, meanwhile, he’d managed just five goals in 19 league appearances.

There had been pressure for Zidane to start playing Alvaro Morata more regularly, but Benzema’s response should buy him some more time.
Even Zinedine Zidane said he was delighted for Karim Benzema after he scored twice and made two more in the 4-1 win at Eibar.
He ended the two months’ barren run, and Zidane said: “I am happy for his game, for the two goals, and he was also involved in the other two.
“I am happy for him, and for all of them. We all played very well.”
He praised his side’s reaction to recent setbacks, adding: “Over a season there will be moments when you must suffer, sometimes you will play badly.
“That is normal. A team cannot always play well. Today we played a very good game, serious and intense from the start.
“We know there are many games still to play. This is a good sign for us.
“They [Eibar] are a difficult team to play against, at set-pieces, second balls, but we were very focused on these things.”
