Having made a decent start to the season, Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal, have slowly lost the plot, as they have not been able to show any kind of consistency this season.

They have dropped some important points in recent games in the league and were battered by German giants Bayern Munich in the Champions League, all but ending their European journey.

Wenger is now under pressure and though the FA Cup gives them a shot at silverware, his success in the season now lies on Arsenal’s qualification for the Champions League.

The manager is evidently unhappy with the options at his disposal but most of it comes from the fact that he was not able to get his hands on top transfer targets before the start of the season.

Wenger was desperate for an attacking signing in the summer and was looking at the likes of Mauro Icardi, Jamie Vardy and Alexandre Lacazette to name a few.

However, he was not able to lure any of the targets to the Emirates and had to settle with La Liga star Lucas Perez, who was fresh from a 17-goal season.

The Spaniard is taking his time to settle into the English conditions and is far from the solution to Wenger’s problems and he has not been used regularly this season by the manager.

He will remain a fringe player till the end of the season and Italian media outlet Il Messaggero now claim that Italian giants AC Milan are ready to lure him away in the summer.

Wenger decided to meet the £17.1m release clause to get him from Deportivo la Coruna in the summer and it is now understood that AC Milan are ready to recoup the costs and are planning to make a bid in the region of £17m at the end of the season.

The San Siro outfit are desperate for some attacking additions and are looking at some star players but they are also looking at cost effective options and are determined that Lucas Perez can be the man who can help them next season.

Wenger might be tempted to keep him at the club for another year but with regular playing time on offer, Perez might be tempted to leave in the summer.

And if Arsenal are able to sell him close to his purchase price, they can also invest it in another player who can walk into the first team at the club.

Do you think Arsenal should sell Lucas Perez to AC Milan in the summer?
