Madrid, May 2 (IANS) Athletic Bilbao striker Aritz Aduriz scored a goal and thus became the Spanish footballer with the highest goals in La Liga, with 18 goals in total.
Aduriz shot his third penalty as his team won 2-1 on Sunday. With 18 goals, he ranked seventh in the top scorer standings, the first Spanish forward ahead of Betis striker Ruben Castor and Eibar’s Borja Baston.
Athletic’s victory sealed Raul Garcia with the sixth goal in the season so far while the Chilean Orellana reached his seventh.
Ecuadorian striker Felipe Caicedo’s eighth goal gave Espanyol a key victory against Sevilla.
