Transfer Recap: All you need to know about Arsenal’s six summer signings

The summer transfer window ended on a good note for the English giants Arsenal. The Gunners boss Arsene Wenger was severely criticised for his lack of his expenditure during the transfer window but he finally managed to bring in some quality players to the Emirates.
In total, the North London club has spent just short of £100 million on summer signings which shows the club’s intention of challenging for the title.
Wenger signed an experienced centre-half in the form of Germany international Shkodran Mustafi. Before him the Gunners signed Switzerland stare Granit Xhaka. The club also recovered from Jamie Vardy’s snub to land a versatile and speedy forward following Lucas Perez’s arrival.
Now that the transfer window is closed, we are presenting to you all the players who signed for Arsenal this summer:
1. Granit Xhaka – £30 million:
Switzerland international Granit Xhaka was Arsenal’s first signing this summer when he signed for the Gunners from Borussia Monchengladbach . The 23-year-old has been one of the most impressive central-midfielders in the Bundesliga in recent seasons. He made over 100 Bundesliga appearances for Monchengladbach and scored six goals. He was also impressive in the recently concluded Euro 2016, where he bagged two Man of the Match awards in three group stage games.

2. Rob Holding – £2.5 million:
The 20 year old was brought from Bolton Wanderers and he has already caught the attention with his impressive performances in the first three Premier League matches. Holding made a promising first senior campaign in 2015/16, when he played 30 matches for Bolton and won the club’s player of the season award.

3. Takuma Asano – £3.4 million:
The 21-year old Japanese forward was a surprise signing for the North London club but one cannot undermine his great potentials. Nicknamed ‘the Jaguar’ because of his lightning quick pace on the pitch, he once recorded a time of 5.9 seconds over 50 metres which will certainly make him one of the fastest members of the Arsenal squad. He is already a full Japanese international and was a regular for Sanfreece Hiroshima – where he scored 21 times in 83 games.

4. Kelechi Nwakali – £2.98 million:
The highly-rated Nigerian forward was given a five-year deal by the Gunners. He caught the attention after being named the Player of the Tournament at the Under-17 World Cup. He is currently sent out to Dutch club MVV Maasstricht on a season-long loan.

5.Shkodran Mustafi – £35 million:
The experienced centre-back was chased throughout the summer by Arsenal and after a lot of speculations he completed his move to the Emirates from La Liga outfit Valencia. Bought for a whooping £32 million, Mustafi is now Arsenal’s third most expensive signing in history after Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez.

6. Lucas Perez – £17.1 million:
The Spaniard striker ended Arsenal’s long search for a striker when he penned down a deal with the Gunners. He scored 17 goals in 37 games last season for Deportivo La Coruna in La Liga. He also provided 8 assists last season.
