Ex-Chelsea boss to replace LVG at Old Trafford?

With Van Gaal’s term likely to end in 2016-17 owing to a promise to his wife, his possible replacement could be a certain Italian.

Van Gaal’s position is safe and secure with the club sitting in a comfortable position in the league, his word to his wife might see the Dutchman bid adieu to Old Trafford and who better to replace him than the mighty Italian bull.

The name ‘Carlo Ancelloti’ needs no introduction. The master tactician has won trophies wherever he has been to from Juventus to Chelsea to PSG to Real Madrid. He is regarded as one of the best managers in the game and rightly so and seeing him at the Theatre of dreams will be immensely welcomed by fans as they are tired of watching a bland dish of football that Van Gaal serves them regularly.

Another name also in contention for taking up the United job is Massimiliano Allegri who led Juventus to a Serie A title and a Champions League final. But the Italian boss steered clear of any rumours saying that he is very happy at the Stadio Delle Alpi and has a contarct until 2017.

Manchester United isn’t the only club that Ancelloti has been linked to during his sabbatical after being sacked by Real Madrid. German champions Bayern Munich too are after the Italian in the case of the departure Pep Guardiola. Chelsea and Real Madrid (after a Benitez mistake!) are also viable options for the champion manager.

He’s one of my good friends and also one of the best managers the game has seen. He’s a great guy and I think he’ll be back in the game shortly. People with that ability don’t stay out of it for too long” was Ferguson’s take on Ancellotiand makes us wonder if this is an inkling of the presence of that Italian at Old Trafford?
