Swansea City’s standout performer over the opening half of the season, Andre Ayew, is on the radar of Wearside club, Sunderland. The Northern club needs reinforcement in attack as they look to salvage a season of despair with the manager Sam Allardyce firmly in the driving seat. Since Big Sam’s arrival, the club has been better organised and has shed their attacking flair for some defensive steel.

Now that the ship is in the right direction, Sunderland wants to improve their attack by providing help to Jermaine Defoe who has been banging in goals for the Black Cats over the season so far. The reported target is Ghanaian Ayew who joined Swansea for a free from Marseille over the summer and has since lit up the league with great displays of skill, power and finesse. He is a player who is highly regarded back in Wales and even though he joined for a free, Swansea would look to make an enormous demand for the player if Big Sam comes calling simply because of their own woes this season and the fact that Ayew has been the only hope for them in many occasions.

The players’ father failed to address the speculation with comments that neither confirmed, nor ruled out the potential transfer of either of his children. The other player in question is Jordan Ayew of Aston Villa who joined over from Lorient and has been the standout performer for the midlands club with his raw ability.

“Today, I think football is in England,” Abedi ‘Pele’ Ayew told Starr FM.

“The best league is in England. I think times have changed from when I was [playing] in Italy at Torino because today, it has shifted to the other side.”

“My sons have achieved their lifetime dreams to play in England and even that they also have teams that they support there so we hope that one day, they will get those teams. But what is most important now is them to continue to put their foot in England as they are doing,” he added.

The Ayews have a combined 12 goals with Andre netting 7 while Jordan grabbing 5 of his own with their respective clubs in highly impressive performances so far from the Ghanaian wingers.
