Antonio Conte insists out of favor star still has place in the squad this season on one condition 1

Antonio Conte faces his toughest test yet this weekend when his new look Chelsea side take on an energetic Liverpool side that is fresh from a thumping win over the Champions of England.

The former Italian boss made some crude signings in the summer transfer window but also spent insane amounts of money on deadline day to help make his squad stronger from the previous season.

The purchase of David Luiz for £30m was a questionable decision by the manager but it is not the only thing that the manager has done at the Bridge that is hard to contemplate.

Having used the likes of N ‘Golo Kante and Nemanja Matic in the midfield this season, the manager looks likely to end the reign of one midfielder who is still regarded as one of the best in the world.

Cesc Fabregas, the 29-year old Spanish international, moved to Chelsea from Barcelona a couple og years ago and has helped his side to a Premier League title in his first season back in the country.

He was influential alongside Diego Costa and Eden Hazard in helping Mourinho give Chelsea a league title after a long time but ever since, he has not been able to replicate the form for the Blues.

He showed signs of form in the last few games of the previous season but has completely fallen out of favor under the new manager who is yet to give him a start in the new season.

Fabregas has played just the26 minutes in the league so far this season and though he started the League Cup game against Bristol Rovers, he is far away from a regular spot in the starting XI.

This has seen the manager put his up for sale as early as January with the likes of AC Milan desperate for the midfielder.

However, reports today have revealed that Antonio Conte might just keep hold of the player till the end of the season.

A recent report has suggested that Antonio Conte will give Fabregas a chance to prove himself in the next few months but has reportedly warned him to improve on the defensive side of his game if he is to stand a chance of playing for the club for a long time.

Talking to the media, “Cesc is in my plans and in Chelsea’s plans,” said Conte.

“In my opinion he’s improving a lot on many aspects, above all the defensive situations. If he continues in this way, it’ll be very difficult for me to choose my midfield,” he added.

Fabregas is, as already mentioned, one of the best and most gifted midfielders in the world. He is a player any European team would love to have in their squad and it can disastrous for Chelsea to let the 29-year old leave next summer.

At his age, Fabregas still has a lot to give to his club and if Chelsea are not able to use him properly, it might actually be profitable for him to move away from the club.

Do you think Fabregas should leave Chelsea in search of regular football?
