Arsenal are not the only Premier League club chasing Spanish striker Nolito. According to talkSPORT, Liverpool have now joined Arsenal in the race to sign the former Barcelona striker. They also add that Liverpool have already submitted a bid for the player.
The current Celta Vigo striker has impressed with eight La Liga goals so far this season and has attracted interest from the Gunners as well as ex-club Barcelona. But now the two European giants have a competitor in Liverpool
The Spaniard had his heart set on a Barcelona return but that move seems dead in the water for this transfer window at least as Celta have rejected all proposals made by Barcelona for Nolito.
Barcelona wanted to sign Nolito on loan in this window with an option to sign him permanently in the summer. But Celta Vigo are keen to wrap up a deal in this transfer window for Nolito who has a buyout clause reportedly set at £12.6million and Celta are adamant that he will not be sold for anything less than that.
And talkSPORT believe both Liverpool and Arsenal are willing to fork out the cash now and have met their asking price for Nolito who has scored 35 goals in two-and-a-half seasons.
Arsenal have been linked with Nolito for quite some time but Liverpool’s interest comes at a bit of a surprise as the Reds have been strongly linked with a move for Shaktar Donetsk’s Alex Teixeira.
The price quoted for Nolito seems a bargain in the present transfer market and it wouldn’t be much of a surprise if Nolito does end up swapping La Liga for the Premier League this window.
