Arsene Wenger paid the price for not spending big at the start of the previous season and he seemed to have redeemed himself when he spent big in the summer transfer window at the start of the current season.
The manager will be relatively happy with the position of the team at the moment, standing 8 points of Chelsea at the top and will hope that his side can go strong for the rest of the season. However, Wenger will know that his squad can do with an addition or two in the January transfer window to help the side in their pursuit of success in the business end of the season.
This has seen the club linked with a number of star players recently and one such player who is now making headlines at the Emirates is Danilo Pereira.

The 25-year old midfielder is one of the most exciting players in his position in Portugal and he has been at the top of his game since joining FC Porto back in 2015.
He was also a part of the Portugal team that went on to win the EURO16 in France and he is now a star who is in demand.
The Arsenal manager has been a fan of the defensive midfielder for a while now and is now ready to make a move for him. Reports from Portuguese news outfit A Bola reveal that the Gunners had scouts watching over the player in a recent game.
Porto played Rio Ave in a thrilling match at the weekend when the former managed to get back from 2-1 down to win the game in the second half.

Danilo, who had an impressive night, popped up to score the winner at the hour mark to steal all three points for his side and it is now understood that the English outfit are impressed by his performance and are ready to make a move for him at the end of the season.
Arsene Wenger has the likes of Francis Coquelin, Granit Xhaka, Aaron Ramsey and Mohamed Elneny in the squad for this position and it will be interesting to see how the manager can rotate the 5 players if he moves for Danilo.
The report also revealed that the 25-year old has a release clause of £34.5m in his contract with Porto and Arsenal now have a few months before they can pounce on him in the summer.
At his age, Danilo, is a great prospect for the Gunners but do you think Wenger will be ready to spend more than £30m on defensive midfielders in consecutive transfer windows?
