According to Tuttomercatoweb, Arsenal are in talks to sign Crotone youngster Aniello Viscovo.
The Gunners have a long history of securing young talent from across the world to bolster their youth ranks.
It is something they have been successful with too, with Hector Bellerin and Francis Coquelin currently starring in the first team having progressed through the youth sides.
Indeed, in the summer transfer window, they were busy planning for the future with the signings of Rob Holding and Takuma Asano.
And according to Tuttomercatoweb, they are now looking to add a goalkeeper to their ranks.
The website reports they are targeting a move for Crotone youngster Aniello Viscovo.
The 17-year-old is out of contract at the Italian side at the end of the season and as a result free to talk to prospective clubs about a move in the January transfer window.
According to the report, Arsenal are looking to add a young goalkeeper and have already made contact about a deal for the Crotone man.
Viscovo is yet to appear in Serie A this season but has reportedly impressed Gunners scouts with his performances for the youth teams.
With Italy having a history of producing world-class goalkeepers, Arsenal will be hoping their potential signing follows suit.
The Crotone youngster isn’t the first 17-year-old to cause a stir in Italian football. Gianluigi Donnarumma has proven age is just a number with a variety of tremendous displays this season.
Dubbed the ‘new Buffon’, Donnarumma has recently earned himself a call-up to the senior national side, as well as cementing himself as AC Milan’s number one between the sticks.
Arsenal’s search for a keeper will surprise most. In current keepers Petr Cech and David Ospina the North-Londoners have one of the strongest pairings in the league.
