Arsenal Fans Rip Apart Players After Underwhelming Defeat To Southampton

Arsenal disappointed their watching faithful as a largely untested team were torn apart by a Southampton team who themselves had made eight changes from Sunday’s win over Everton.

Petr Cech, Mesut Ozil, Alexis Sanchez, Theo Walcott and Laurent Koscielny were just some of the big names missing from the starting line-up, with Arsene Wenger opting to hand opportunities to Emiliano Martinez, Rob Holding, Jeff-Reine Adelaide and Alex Iwobi among others.

However, Jordy Clasie scored his first goal for the Saints just thirteen minutes into the game, and Ryan Bertrand added the visitors second before half-time.

There was more bad news for Arsenal, as Mohamed Elneny had to be withdrawn due to illness during the game.

Arsene Wenger was frustrated at his side’s lack of urgency in the first-half, something that ultimately cost them the game.

Here’s the fan reaction from a bitterly disappointing night.
