Premier League giants Arsenal are now looking to sign 18 year old Palmeiras striker Gabriel Jesus, it has been recently confirmed. According to Calcionews24, chiefs from the north London side have made contact with the youngster’s representatives and will now meet with the club representatives as well in the upcoming week to push a deal through.

The Brazilian U-20 international broke into the Palmeiras first team in the current campaign and has managed to score a tally of four goals in 20 appearances till now for the Serie A side.

Jesus has also represented Brazil at under-23 level and is quite comfortable playing anywhere along the front line, which would be a huge asset for manager Arsene Wenger, if a deal does indeed go through.

The French manager is at present having an injury crisis once again at the Emirates and if he is keen on winning titles, he will have to add more reinforcements to his current squad.

The attacker, who has further managed to score a total of 37 goals in 22 games at the youth level in the previous campaign, currently has a contract with the club which will last until 2019.

The Gunners have been keen on adding yet another striker to their squad right through the summer, though a deal did not happen at that point of time and Wenger did not sign any outfield player.

However, things might be different this time around if the French manager finally looks to splash the cash and strengthen his side in the new year.
