Arsenal, it seems, are finally preparing for life after Alexis Sanchez as they are reportedly eye Borussia Dortmund star Marco Reus as his replacement.
The Chile international, whose current contract with the club will expire in 18 months, is in negotiation with the club over a new deal but so far nothing positive has come out which has raised huge speculation on his future at the Emirates. The former Barcelona star has reportedly demanded in excess of £250,000-a-week to stay at the Emirates but the club hierarchy has not accepted his demand yet.

The Daily Mail has reported that amid all the uncertainties around Sanchez’s future, the club scouts have filed glowing reports of Dortmund forward Reus. The German international has been linked with the Gunners in the past but Dortmund managed to keep hold of him. However, the club might sell him due to fitness issues. The winger has struggled with fitness in recent times and has currently returned to action after a six-month injury lay-off. Moreover, Reus’ form has been brilliant in recent times which might convince the Gunners to go for him.
The report claimed that, although, Arsenal is interested in Reus, their first priority is to keep the Chilean at the club. Sanchez is heavily linked with several clubs Manchester City and Juventus highly interested in signing him. On the other hand, he has received a massive offer from China. And if Arsenal does not break the bank to give him a lucrative deal, they might lose the player who has been one of the best performers for them in past few seasons. He has been in red-hot form in the ongoing season too and has been a revelation in his new centre-forward role. He is currently the joint top scorer of the Premier League with 11 goals and losing him will be a huge blow for the North London outfit.
