Daily Mail reports, Premier League giants Arsenal FC could land in Bayern Munich’s five goal hero Robert Lewandowski in January to replace Olivier Giroud.
During the summer transfer window when the Gunners where in search of a quality striker to bolster their squad, they apparently enquired about the availability of Poland international and Bayern Munich forward Robert Leqndowski. But the German giants were not ready to let go one of their star players as they ahd already sold Bastian Schweinsteiger to Manchester United earlier.
But as now the situation stands, media reports claim that, Bayern manager Pep Guardiola is not a very keen admirer of the former Borussia Dortmund man. The Spanish manager apparently prefers Thomas Muller or Mario Gotze in the center forward position over the Polish player.
Roberto Lewandowski created record this week as he became he fastest man in the world to score 5 goals within 9 minutes. He also created the record of scoring hat-trick after coming as a substitute.
That is the point where everybody is focusing that even in an important Bundesliga tie against title rivals Wolfsburg, Lewandowski was introduced in the second half.
Pep Guardiola follows an unconventional method of football where he constantly experiment with the squad. In his system instead of a proper number a 9 a false 9 like Mullr or Gotze is given the notch. This apparently has not gone down well with the striker.
Arsenal are thus ready to tap in the situation in their favour as they might offer a hefty sum of 40-50 million pounds. The Gunners had just spent a mere 10 million pounds for Petr Cech this summer. They were ready to splash money this time but none of the big names in world football were available.
Hence it is clear that finance will never be a problem for the North London side if they actually wants to lure Robert Lewnadowski’s services.
The Gunners definitely lack a quality goal poacher upfront which is hampering their title challenge every year. They have an array of talent in their midfield but it will be of no use if striker are not there.
Arsene Wenger at the moment is fielding make shift striker Theo Walcott. Well the English winger is doing a fair job upfront, but we have to keep in mind tha Walcott can never be a permanent solution for a title aspiring side. The other option that Wenger has got his Frenchman Olivier Giroud, who is yet to make a mark.
Thus, Arsenal might go all out for Robert Lewandowski who could replace Olivier Giroud in the squad and permanently solve Arseal’s woes.
