Arsenal are given a major injury boost as Laurent Koscielny returns to training ahead of Saturday’s important game clash with Championship side Hull City, according to reliable Arsenal outlet Red London.
The French centreback was taken off at half-time on Sunday afternoon and was replaced by Calum Chambers, who managed to pocked Premier League’s most in-form striker in Jamie Vardy. However, his heroics may not help in the long term as the Gunners desperately need experience at the back to have a crack at the title they have failed to win since 2003/04.
Red London reported that Arsene Wenger could call opon the services of the 30-year-old for the Tigers clash with the defender pencilled in to return to full training on Wednesday; however, the former Southampton starlet will likely partner Per Mertesacker at the heart of the defence this weekend.
Arsenal suddenly looked as if they might have only five senior defenders as they head into the most crucial stages of the Premier League season with Gabriel Paulista out injured, but the quickfire return of the former Lorient centre-half has been regarded as a huge relief by the Arsenal faithful.
The Community Shield holders play host to European juggernauts Barcelona shortly after the Football Association Cup fifth –round clash and Laurent Koscielny will feature in the lineup as Arsenal will then be assigned with arguably the trickiest task of their current campaign – facing a trio of Neymar, Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi.
Arsenal signed Laurent Koscielny in July 2010, and he has since gone on to make 235 competitive appearances for the Gunners, scoring 19 goals in the process. He has been influential in the Arsenal team, who have won back-to-back FA Cup trophies and Community Shields.
