Arsenal have been handed a massive advantage ahead of 18th December’s mega clash as Aguero and Fernandinho were both sent off in the dying embers of Manchester City’s 3-1 defeat to Chelsea.
Fernandinho launched Chelsea’s Cesc Fabregas over the advertising hoardings while Aguero bizarrely decided to do this to David Luiz.
As a result, Agüero has been handed a four-match ban (taking into account his earlier ban for the incident against West Ham’s Winston Reid) whilst Fernandinho will miss the next three games.
Taking into consideration that City play the Gunners in the last round of fixtures before Christmas Day, this means that both their Argentinian ace and Brazilian star will miss out, handing Arsene Wenger’s side an enormous advantage.
City took the lead after Gary Cahill’s own goal, but Antonio Conte’s side battled back and strikes from Diego Costa, Willian and Eden Hazard condemned Pep Guardiola’s outfit to another loss.
The Blues also stretched their lead to four points over their nearest challengers, something Arsenal will be looking to reverse this evening at West Ham.
