Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla drops a huge hint about Wenger’s future

Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla has revealed that manager Arsene Wenger has not given any indications of leaving the club at the end of the current season.

The 66-year old’s future is yet to be sorted out as he is in the last year of his contract at Arsenal and is heavily tipped to take over as the manager for English national team next year.

Wenger who has recently completed 20 years at Arsenal, however, has admitted that Arsenal would be his first choice and reports suggest that he could be given an extended run after his impressive results so far this season as the club are yet to find his potential replacement.

The fans who asked Wenger to be out from the club last season has turned back to the Frenchman as the team is rallying victories in Premier League with beautiful football.

Speaking in Wenger’s contract situation, Cazorla said to Spanish broadcaster Cope: ‘The truth is we do not have that feeling in the dressing room.’

‘The boss has not indicated that this will be his last year. Not at all. He is fully focused on this season and I do not know what he is planning for the future.

‘Today I do not rule him [out of] continuing another season because he has not said he will leave,’ Cazorla added.

‘It is in his hands and he is the one who has to make the decision, but today I would say that he may continue,’ the Spaniard added.

The 31-year old Spaniard has hailed Arsene Wenger as a legend at the club when speaking on the This is Football’ podcast: ‘Arsene is an icon at the club. He has spent 20 years here and every bit of praise to him would not be enough.

‘There was a time when fans demanded the club to fight for the Premier League title again or do something big in the Champions League.

‘We were aware of that and I hope the club can take a step forward and Arsenal can be fighting for big things this season.’
