Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin is set to be offered a new five-year contract by the club as they look to tie him down for the near future, according to reports in England.

The 21-year still has three years left on his current contract and Arsenal are keen to keep him longer and ward off interest from rivals. The karst development is a huge blow to both Manchester City and Barcelona as they are interested in signing him.

With January transfer window approaching, the club stress determined to finalize the deal for the exciting full-back who is considered as one of the best young defenders in entire Europe, according to Daily Mirror.

Arsene Wenger has given the youngster debut in 2013 and over the last three years, he had grown into one of the best right backs in Europe which had promoted his former employers Barcelona get interested in signing him back.

‘We’ve already seen him as a Cule! He’s a great player, there’s no doubt about that,’ Barca vice president Jordi Mestre recently told Sport.

‘In many cases, it’s good that they leave to develop as players and then return with experience” he said.

‘Look at the cases of Cesc Fabregas, Gerard Pique, Jordi Alba and Denis Suarez… I hope the same thing will happen with Sergi Samper, too.

‘It’s positive that these players get minutes at other clubs. It is dynamic which has always provided good results for players that carry the Barca DNA in their blood.’

Meanwhile, former Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola has also enquired about the young Spaniard as he looks to sign him for Manchester City.

The 21-year old is in terrific form this season and played a key role in the club’s winning streak as they have now won five Premier league games in a row. Arsenal have made the deal for Bellerin a priority as they are in no thoughts of selling the player.
