Arsenal Player Ratings: Giroud Salvages A Point For Gunners In A Thrilling Draw

Arsenal were left in disbelief during the first hour of the game as they were 3-0 down against Bournemouth. However, the visitors soon found their rhythm in the last 20 minutes as they scored thrice to eventually end the contest at 3-3.

The result meant Gunners could be 11 points adrift off league leaders Chelsea if the Blues win at White Hart Lane this week. Here we look at the player ratings of Arsenal as it was arguably their poorest performance of the season so far.

Cech- 5

Made some important saves but could have done better with two of the three goals scored by Bournemouth.

Bellerin- 4

Probably his worst night in Arsenal jersey. The Spaniard was beaten too easily by Bournemouth attackers as he had a night to forget going ahead.

Mustafi- 5

Was heavily targeted by Bournemouth attackers as he looked vulnerable due to the aggressive pressing made by the home team.

Koscielny- 5

Looked decent with some good tackling and blocking but was forced to walk off due to an injury which will add to the concerns of Arsenal.

Monreal- 6

Looked the better from the rest in the defense as he did a decent job to keep things in control down the right wing of Bournemouth. He also put in a hard shift as he moved forward quite effectively to link up with the attack.

Coquelin- 5

Struggled for most of the time as he was heavily pressed by Bournemouth which left Arsenal’s defense open up for the home team in the first 30 minutes. He was substituted due to an injury.

Xhaka- 5

Looked poor in the first hour as he gave away another silly penalty but was instrumental in Gunners’ playing style in the last 20 minutes as he eventually set up the equalizer for Giroud in extra time.

Ramsey- 5

Struggled to make impact as an attacking mid-fielder in the first half hour but was forced to play a more deeper role after COquelin was subbed off.

Iwobi- 5

Was put back in the left wing despite an impressive performance as No.10 on New Year Day and he remained ineffective with little space to make any attacking move.

Sanchez- 7

Opened the scoring for Gunners and looked by far their most creative player on the pitch.

Giroud- 8

Was their best player on a nervy night on the south coast as the Frenchman managed to score one goal and provide two assists as he played a hand in all three goals.

Substitutes

Oxlade-Chamberlain- 7

Perez- 8

Gabriel- 5
