Premier League giants Arsenal have reportedly revised their interest in signing Uruguayan international striker Edinson Cavani this summer. Cavani has been linked with Premier League side since a long time and it is being reported by Spanish media that the club have again enquired for the availability of the world class striker.
The Gunners were initially linked with French striker Karim Benzema and it was believed that the Real Madrid is very close on signing for Arsenal. Two days back it was even reported the Frenchman would fly to Lonodn to have his medical with the club and wuld sign. But now as the specualtions have subdued, Cavani rumours have again started.
Arsene Wenger’s side are in need of a quality striker who could revitalise their attack force. Arsenal lost their opening match of the season on Sunday, 9th August, against West Ham United.
Arsenal at present have Olivier Giroud as their only proper forward in their squad. Arsene Wenger had also tried to Theo Walcott as a makeshift forward but that did not work either.
The Premier League side now have to buy a big name to bolster their squad and make them worthy of becoming title contenders. It will be interesting to see if Arsenal signs Karim Benzema or shift their focus over edinson Cavani.
PSG manager Laurent Blanc had mentioned earlier that they are not ready to sell any of their star players. But after that they have bought Angel Di Maria from United for a huge transfer fee of £44.3 they might sell Cavani for big transfer fee to balance the business.
