Premier League giants Arsenal FC are ready to spend a huge sum of money to lure the service of French international striker Karim Benzema, according to Dail Mail.

Arsenal who were interested in signing the forward since a long time have apparently decided to take a step forward. They had bought Mesut Ozil from Real Madrid in 2013 for a club record fee of £42.5million, but it seems that the Gunners are ready to shatter their previous record for getting Karim Benzema at the Emirates Stadium.

Initially it was believed that the La Liga giants were not interested in doing business with the Premier League side. Club manager Rafel Benitez had revealed that they will not let any of their players leave this summer.

But now it can said that Arsene Wenger has been shown the green flag. The French manager since last two seasons are bringing in a marquee player to bolster his squad.

After Mesut Ozil’s arrival in 2013, Alexis Sanchez was bought from FC Barcelona last summer. With Benzema’s arrival the club will become a very strong unit worthy enough of becoming champions this time.

Arsenal’s initial approach for the forward was rejected by Madrid earlier in the summer, but the London side are refusing to give up on Benzema this summer.

Arsene Wenger believes Benzema would swap Madrid for London this summer should they be able to persuade Real into letting him leave.

Ideally, Real would want an equal replacement for Benzema before letting him go.

Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero is long-term target for Real, but the English club don’t want to sell their star striker.
