Arsenal Roundup: Jack Wilshere Makes Shocking Comments, Bellerin’s Injury Update And More

After a slow start, Arsenal seems to be finally track as they’ve maintained consistency over the last few weeks. The Gunners only had one point from their opening two games of the season and Arsene Wenger was heavily criticized for not spending enough in the transfer window.

Wenger addressed key issues by signing Perez and Mustafi towards the end of transfer window. The Gunners have managed to eclipse their slow start as they remained unbeaten post the opening day defeat, which made them genuine contenders for the title early in the season coupled with some good football in champions league, which could yet see them finish as runners-up after their disappointing 2-2 draw against PSG at the Emirates.

Here we look at all the important news involving Arsenal:

Arsenal and Liverpool target Riechedly Bazoer could leave his current club Ajax in January, according to reports in Netherlands.

The 20-year old has been impressing with his performances for both club and national team in the recent months and has been largely scouted by the two Premier League giants.

He has lots of potential as he is termed as the “New Vieira” by the media and according to Voetbal International, Bazoer can leave Ajax in January.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed that the club will offer a new deal for loan star Jack Wilshere as the Frenchman has expressed his delight over the progress Wilshere is making with Bournemouth this season.

“Yes of course,” he said. “Not before the Bournemouth game, no. We have to plan that around the New Year.”

“I am happy that he develops well,” he said. “I think it was basically in the end the right decision for him to go. He gets regular football and now, on the observations I get from our people who watch him, he’s getting stronger every week.”

Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin has some good news for the fans as he revealed that his injury is healing faster than initial expectations as he could be back as early as this weekend.

Bellerin told 101 Great Goals: “It’s going better than expected because it’s a pretty hard injury but, at the moment, it’s recovering really well.

“I hope to be running by the end of this week or the beginning of next week and then we’ll just take it from there.”

Arsenal on-loan star midfielder Jack Wilshere has admitted that he would be happy with Bournemouth winning over the Gunners this weekend as he is currently a Bournemouth player.

The player has been progressing well with Bournemouth as he has already started in eight games so far this season as compared to 10 starts in last two seasons.

“You know what, at the moment I’m a Bournemouth player so I want Bournemouth to win,” he said.

“It’s frustrating [not to play], of course. I just got a run of games,” he said. “But it might be good for me in a way, just to miss one and then refresh and go again.”

Arsene Wenger feels that Arsenal are missing the technical stability in the centre of the pitch due to the absence of Santi Cazorla. The form of Gunners have been a little down in the recent weeks as they have only managed three draws in the last three games in the traditional November down-slide.

“He’s important to our technical stability in the team, to the quality of our decision making and to our build-up from deep midfield to the high midfield,” Wenger said. “That’s an important stage because it gets the ball out from the defenders.

“We have enough quality players in our side to get around that, even if Santi is a massive player for us. We are good enough to find solutions despite the fact he’s not there.”
