Arsenal Roundup: Star Full-back Ready For Emirates Move, Sanchez Provides Huge Contract Update And More

After a slow start, Arsenal seems to be finally track as they’ve maintained consistency over the last few weeks. The Gunners only had one point from their opening two games of the season and Arsene Wenger was heavily criticized for not spending enough in the transfer window.

Wenger addressed key issues by signing Perez and Mustafi towards the end of transfer window. The Gunners have managed to eclipse their slow start as they remained unbeaten in the league post the opening day defeat, which made them genuine contenders for the title early in the season coupled with some good football in champions league, which saw them win the group and draw against Bayern Munich in the Round-of-16.

Here we look at all the important news involving Arsenal.

Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil has asked the club to sign Wolfsburg outcast Julian Draxler who is expected to leave in January, according to French outlet RMC.

French champions PSG are also interested in signing him but Ozil is keen to see him at Emirates and the signing could lure him to extend his contract to 2020 amid speculations of Ozil leaving at the end of the current contract.

Alexis Sanchez has revealed that he is ready to commit his future to the club but insists that depends on whether the club wants to “show confidence” in him

“It really doesn’t depend on me so much as it does the club, if they want to show confidence in me,” Sanchez said. “I’m very happy at the club. I love It here, I love all the staff, I love the coaches, I love all the employees who work for us. I’m very grateful for everybody here. As I say, I’m very happy so it depends more on Arsenal.”

There has been lot of rumors surrounding the future of Sanchez as his situation is monitored by all the major giants in Europe.

Southampton manager Claude Puel has backed Bournemouth manager Eddie How to replace Arsene Wenger as the next Arsenal manager.

The 66-year old is in his last year of his current contract and is highly expected to leave the club after an impressive 20 year spell with Gunners.

He said: “Eddie has the same philosophy as Wenger. Eddie likes good technical players, like Arsene. If one day he can manage Arsenal, that would be a good choice.

“It is always important when a team has a good philosophy to keep this philosophy with the same profile of players. It is important to keep the same quality, same spirit. It is important to continue this good work.”
