Arsenal have won the race for to sign League Two outfit Luton Town’s 11-year-old Charlie Patino for a reported sum of £10,000. Luton Town will get the sum as a compensation for the player who is widely regarded as the wonderkid in England.

The 11-year old resembles the playing style of Gunners’ Jack Wilshere and the youngster have drawn interest from the likes of Tottenham and Chelsea. Manchester City have made a late attempt to lure the young kid to their club but the player opted for the Gunners.

The player’s family were given the chance to visit the facilities at Arsenal earlier and given Wenger’s record in developing young kids, the player’s family said yes to a move to London.

His dad earlier said, “Charlie is only 11 but he gets it and he knows what is happening to him. He knows that this is a big opportunity to train with a top club, even though there are no guarantees at the end of it.”

Another reason for the player’s choice of Arsenal is that the club’s facilities are close to his St Albans home.
