Transfer Alert: Arsenal Send Scouts To Watch Porto Star Ahead Of Potential January Deal 1

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is plotting a big money move for Porto midfielder Danilo Pereira, according to reports.

The Frenchman had sent scouts to watch the versatile Portuguese midfielder in action in their 4-2 win against Rio Ave last weekend. Wenger is keen to make a couple of signings as Arsenal have looked poor in the recent weeks due to injuries to stars like Santi Cazorla and Francis Coquelin.

According to Portuguese media outlet A Bola, Arsenal are ready splash a massive £34.5million deal for the Euro 2016 winner as he still has a long term contract with Benfica till 2020.

The 25-year old will be a valuable addition to Gunners as Wenger was left red faced in the recent games as they missed the class of Santi Cazorla and Francis Coquelin in the defensive midfield.

Despite putting back Aaron Ramsey in the defensive midfield, Granit Xhaka’s discipline has been a worry for the manager as the Swiss international was once again sent off in their 2-1 win over Burnley last weekend.

The Portuguese defensive midfielder has started his career at Arsenal 72 before joining Parma in his first professional contract in Italy. However, he moved back to Portugal in 2013 as he signed for Marítimo and became a star with the Portuguese side before making a huge move to Porto in 2015.

He has also played a huge role in Portugal’s winning campaign in Euro 2016 as he made five appearances for the national side in the Continental tournament. Wenger would be keen to close in on the midfielder as he remains a good option for the Gunners in this moment of crisis.

Xhaka will face a suspension of four games after his red card against Burnley and Wenger will be only left with Aaron Ramsey and Elneny as the defensive midfield doesn’t have more options with both Cazorla and Coquelin out injured.
