Arsenal send scouts to watch in-demand Sunderland teenager 1

Arsene Wenger, the longest serving manager in the Premier League for some time has a unique eye for talent.

Over the years, the manager has invested in a number of youngsters in a bid to turn them into superstars and has been successful on more than one occasion.

Most of the credit goes to the manager but some it must be given to the scouting team the Gunners have at their club.

They have in the past unearthed some superb talent in England’s domestic football and have been linked to the same even in the recent transfer window.

One player who is now scouted by the Frenchman is Sunderland’s wunderkind Joel Asoro.

According to Expressen, Arsene Wenger sent scouts to watch the Swedish international in a U21 game against Spain in this international break.

Asoro joined the Premier League outfit last summer Swedish side IF Bromma on a 4-year contract and will be in the Premier League till 2019.

He has been in great form for the youth side at the club last season and has already made his debut in the Premier League in the recent game against Middlesbrough and showed that he has what it takes to make the cut at the highest level in the Premier League.

He also made his first full debut for the Sunderland senior side 4-days later in a League cup victory over Shrewsbury town last month.

His performances for the national side at different age levels have made him a target for some of the biggest clubs in Europe.

It was revealed that Newcastle United, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan also had representatives at the game to watch the 17-year old in action.

It is also understood AC Milan, Valencia, Borussia Dortmund, Villareal, and Lyon are other top clubs that are interested in the youngster.

David Moyes will be happy to keep him at the club and provide him with regular game time but if he continues to impress, he might find it hard to keep hold of the star player for a long time.

Do you think Arsenal should move for Asoro next summer?
