Arsenal set to beat United and Chelsea as Real Madrid ready to sell long-term target

Arsenal could be handed a transfer boost by Real Madrid as long-time target Isco has reportedly been put up for sale.

Not only Arsenal, but Manchester United, Chelsea, Manchester City have all been linked with the Spaniard previously. Although, none of them could tempt away him from Madrid.

The Spain international has to some extent failed to live up to his tremendous potential in his time at the Bernabeu, finding himself in and out of the starting line-up, particularly under new manager Zinedine Zidane.

Isco emerged as one of the top young players in the world during his time at former club Malaga, attracting plenty of interest from the Premier League.

Arsenal are one of many names to be regularly linked with the 24-year-old midfielder since then, and could have some luck if they are still interested in pursuing him.

According to AS, Real are looking to sell Isco in order to fund signings of their own to come in this summer, with little activity from the club so far.

Arsenal are not exactly short in the attacking midfield department, but have recently been linked with big names such as Julian Draxler and Riyad Mahrez in that area of the field.

While Isco would be looking for a central role – a No. 10 role – which Arsenal cannot offer, the very concept of having Isco, Mesut Ozil and Santi Cazorla all gallivanting around the pitch like three thoroughbred stallions is enough to make lesser men shed a tear.

Besides, there always will be his former Malaga team-mate Santi Cazorla to guide him. The two Spaniards put together a brilliant partnership in their one year together at the Spanish outfit and bringing them together would serve two distinct purposes.

First of all, they already have that inherent partnership that could be revived. Second of all, Santi Cazorla is getting old and Isco could be the heir apparent to give Arsenal another six or seven years of Spanish magic.
