Arsenal star Hector Bellerin calls Usain Bolt for sprint challenge

Arsenal full-back Hector Bellerin has called for Usain Bolt in a sprint challenge as he is ready to fancy his chances against the Jamaican in a race.

The 21-year old is known for his blistering pace and is one of the fastest footballers on the planet. He broke the record for Arsenal’s 40 metre record of Theo Walcott as he reached the distance in just 4.48 seconds last year.

The Spaniard’s impressive run meant he is way ahead of Usain Bolt by the time the Jamaican reached the same distance in his world record run at Beijing in 2008.

Bolt took 4.64 seconds to reach 40 metre mark in his 100m world record finish at Beijing Olympics in 2006. The Jamaican has now won nine golds making him the best sprinster ever as he won triple triple golds with wins at Beijing, London and Rio 2016.

Speaking in a Puma event, when asked about Bolt challenge Bellerin said:”It’s not me you have to ask, I’ve been waiting for that phonecall from Jamaica. I challenged him a while ago and he said maybe after Rio. So I’m just waiting now, need to push him.”

He also said Arsenal have a lot of pacey players in their ranks as he added: “We have a quick team full of speedsters, I think it’s really important in the game now. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain always says he wants to race me and Theo (Walcott) but it never really happens.”

Arsenal manager Arsene wenger also had his say on the Bellerin vs Bolt challenge ahead of their Hull City trip on Friday. The boss has admitted that the Jamaican could prove a little quick for the exciting Spanish full-back.

“Well, that is a bit ambitious [for Hector].Usain Bolt loves football but I think he’s still too quick for Hector,” Wenger said.

However, football fans would love to see the race in the coming days just for fun at least.
