Arsenal star Theo Walcott reveals reason for his fine form
Arsenal midfielder Theo Walcott is currently in the form of his life as he has cored two goals against Basel which helped Arsenal clinch three important points as they are at the top of their group.
The 27-year old is in spectacular form in recent weeks as he has already equaled his tally for most Champions League goals in a campaign with his two goals against Basel. He has also scored against Chelsea in the London derby and have been pivotal in the Gunners’ attack.
The English forward reveals that his combination with Alexis Sanchez in the final third is helping his form despite it being the early days of the season.
Walcott have recently achieved 100 career goals and have been continuing his rich form which is proving to make the difference for Arsene Wenger. He looked a completely different player this season as his rejuvenated form has helped him cement his place in starting line up.
“It’s started off very well. I will look back on this game but, yeah, the combinations between me and him are very positive at this moment in time,” Walcott said.
“We seem to sort of know when we play off each other quite well. If he comes short, I go long and we’ve just got a good sort of combinations.
“The whole team has tended to play very well together, and when we lose the ball everyone tries to be first to get it back.
“That starts from Alexis at the top and he sets the pace for us all, and it seems to be clicking at this moment in time.”
Sanchez has been opted as a central forward by Arsene Wenger as the move is proving to pay dividends as their attack is looking dangerous than last season. The move helped Wenger accommodate Iwobi on the left while Walcott starting on the right side of the attack.
